Many products feel obligated to apologize for not doing everything. However, I’m painfully aware that there is a slider that goes between “simple, easy to use” and “complicated, does everything”. On the far left you have Notepad and on the far right you have Emacs. Neither are wrong, but they serve different interests. However, both of these solutions can ‘feel’ wrong if your requirements aren’t aligned with the focus of the solution.
Features, for better or worse, drive sales. However, there is a delicate balance in play and we (at Telerik) are constantly trying to understand where the majority of our customers are in their requirements. Then we create solutions (features) to those requirements. When customers deviate from our sweet spot, we make it possible to extend Sitefinity to meet their needs.
This is the goal anyway.
